The First Hawaiian Bank Foundation
Finding Ways to Say YES to the Community
The First Hawaiian Bank Foundation is the charitable arm of First Hawaiian Bank. It's the largest corporate foundation contributing to charity and one of the largest in the state. In 2007, First Hawaiian Bank and the First Hawaiian Bank Foundation donated $3.7 million to more than 350 non-profit organizations all in Hawaii.
The foundation's primary focus remains enriching education opportunities for our youth, improving the lives of others, building healthier communities and invigorating our diverse cultural life. The First Hawaiian Foundation supports programs that improve the local communities where we do business by making grants to non-profit organizations that:
- meet human services needs
- improve access to health care
- provide educational opportunities
- serve youth and children
- enrich our lives through culture and the arts
Giving Back to Our Community
First Hawaiian Bank employees are some of the most generous individuals in Hawaii. Each year, First Hawaiian Bank employees give back to our community by volunteering their time or making monetary contributions to non-profit organizations.
At First Hawaiian Bank, we believe in helping to build stronger communities and ensuring that the needs of our community are being met. This is why so many of our bank employees volunteer their time to serve on the boards of directors of nearly 100 non-profits and charities (view list - pdf).
