First Hawaiian Bank Announces Promotion, Appointments of 10 New Vice Presidents
(Honolulu, Hawaii, January 2, 2004) – First Hawaiian Bank today announced the promotion and appointment of 10 new Vice Presidents, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Walter A. Dods, Jr. said.
Promoted to Vice President were:

Lorraine H. Aoki , Vice President, Real Estate – Systems and Procedures Department. She is a graduate of Baldwin High School and the University of Hawaii who joined the bank in 1975. She worked as a branch stenographer, loan officer, lending support officer and Assistant Vice President before moving to her present position.

Warren T. Higa, Vice President, Business Services Division. Higa is a graduate of Waipahu High School and Pacific University in Oregon. He joined First Hawaiian in 1989 and during his career has provided computer systems support to the Business Services Division.

Marianne M. O. Kimura, Vice President, Commercial Real Estate Division. A graduate of Roosevelt High School and Beloit College in Wisconsin, Kimura joined the bank in 1974. She has worked as a loan representative and assistant branch manager prior to assuming her present position as commercial real estate loan officer.

Lily L. Liu, Vice President, Card Services - Credit & Risk Management Department. Liu joined First Hawaiian in 1969 and has worked for her entire career in the bank card area, where she now supervises credit and risk management, account maintenance and collections. She is a graduate of Kauai High School.

David K. Marchant, Vice President, Kapiolani Banking Center. He is a graduate of Iolani School and the University of California-Berkeley who joined First Hawaiian in 1978. He worked in the branch system and in branch support positions prior to becoming service manager at Kapiolani Banking Center in 1999.

George M. Yamasaki, Jr., Vice President, Consumer Loan Collection Department. After joining First Hawaiian in 1991, Yamasaki worked in the Dealer Center and Consumer Service Center before taking over his present department in 1998. He is a graduate of Chaminade University.

Michael M. Shimote, Vice President, Applications and Database Department. Shimote, a graduate of the University of Hawaii, has 24 years of banking experience in Hawaii. He joined First Hawaiian in 1997 as a research and development officer and moved to his present position in 2000.
Also announced were the appointments of three newly hired Vice Presidents:

Gail F. Nakama, Vice President & Team Leader, Main Banking Center. Nakama is a graduate of Kaiser High School and the University of Denver. She has 16 years of experience in banking in Hawaii and previously worked for First Hawaiian from 1991-98.

Cynthia G. Wahlin, Vice President, Personal Trust Department, Kona Branch. Wahlin joined First Hawaiian from Bank One in Illinois where she had been a trust administrator for the past three years. She is a graduate of Baylor University and holds a law degree from Loyola University in Chicago.

Julie Young-Mahone, Vice President, Trust Business Development. She is a graduate of Shippensburg University and South Texas College of Law and is licensed to practice law in Hawaii. She has 18 years of experience in banking and investment management, including trust and private banking positions in Hawaii and on the Mainland.
