(Honolulu, Hawaii, January 11, 2005) First Hawaiian President and Chief Executive Officer Donald G. Horner announced the promotions of:

Howard Higashi to vice president and team leader, Hilo Branch. Higashi joined First Hawaiian in 1978 as a loan representative and has held positions as business banking officer, assistant branch manager, branch manager and assistant vice president. He is a board member of the Hawaii Island Contractors Association, Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce and the University of Hawaii at Hilo Association of Alumni & Friends. Higashi is a graduate of Hilo High School and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Hawaii at Hilo.

David A. Honma to vice president and business banking officer, Hilo Branch. Honma joined First Hawaiian in 1988 as a management trainee and has held positions as branch manager, business banking officer and assistant vice president. He is a member of the Hawaii Chamber of Commerce, the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and the Japanese Community Association. Honma is a graduate of Waiakea high School and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Hawaii.
