FIRST HAWAIIAN AND ITS FOUNDATION
GAVE $3.7 MILLION TO CHARITY
(Honolulu, Hawaii, March 5, 2008) - First Hawaiian Bank and the First Hawaiian Bank Foundation last year donated $3.7 million to more than 350 non-profit organizations in Hawaii, Guam and Saipan, according to an announcement today by President and CEO Don Horner. For 2007, First Hawaiian Bank was once again the largest corporate contributor to charities in the State of Hawaii.
“First Hawaiian Bank is committed to assisting families and individuals improve their lives within our island communities. During 2007, we financially supported and volunteered for agencies providing services in the areas of health, education, human services, sustainability, economic development and the arts and culture,” Horner said.
First Hawaiian Bank with assets of $12.6 million was founded in 1858 and is Hawaii's oldest and largest bank. The bank celebrates its 150th anniversary this year and has 58 branches in Hawaii, three on Guam and two on Saipan.
