ID Cards for Kupuna Available at First Hawaiian Bank - Pearlridge on Wednesday, March 16
(Honolulu, Hawaii, March 8, 2005) -- Worried about an older family member who may wander away or become disoriented? Free Kupuna ID cards will be available at First Hawaiian Bank's Pearlridge Branch on Wednesday, March 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The branch is located at 98-1071 Moanalua Road, near Pearlridge Center.
The Kupuna ID Project is sponsored by the state Department of the Attorney General and the Honolulu Police Department.
The project is intended to help elderly adults, 65 years or older, who may become disoriented, sick, or lost by providing them with an identification card that includes their photo, name, and emergency contact information. The Kupuna ID card would help emergency personnel to identify a lost senior citizen and enable them to contact the appropriate responsible party.
If a participant in the Kupuna ID Project is reported missing, the Honolulu Police Department Missing Persons Unit can, upon request from the family, disseminate pertinent information about the missing person to aid in recovery.
