FIRST HAWAIIAN BANK NAMES SHERRI YIM
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT AND CONTROLLER

(Honolulu, Hawaii, May 22, 2007) -First Hawaiian Bank has named Sherri Yim senior vice president and controller, according to an announcement today by First Hawaiian Bank President and Chief Executive Officer Don Horner.

Yim brings over 20 years of experience in financial and business management. In her new position, she will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the bank's accounting and financial reporting. Prior to joining First Hawaiian Bank, she was senior vice president and controller at Central Pacific Bank.

Yim has a bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and is a graduate of the Bank Administration Institute. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Hawaii Society of Certified Public Accountants.

First Hawaiian Bank ($12.3 billion assets) was founded in 1858 and is Hawaii's oldest and largest bank. It has 57 branches in Hawaii, three on Guam and two on Saipan. It is a subsidiary of BancWest Corporation (www.bancwestcorp.com), a financial holding company with assets of $68.7 billion.
