BRYAN SHIGEZAWA PROMOTED TO
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT TREASURY & INVESTMENT DIVISION
AT FIRST HAWAIIAN BANK

(Honolulu, Hawaii, June 16, 2006) - Vice President Bryan Shigezawa has been promoted to Senior Vice President of the Treasury & Investment Division at First Hawaiian Bank according to an announcement today by Don Horner, president and chief executive officer.

In his new position, Shigezawa will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Trust & Investment Division. He joined First Hawaiian in 1997 as an assistant vice president in the Controller's Division. He was promoted to assistant vice president, Treasury & Investment Division in 1998 and to vice president in 2002. He is a graduate of McKinley high school and holds a BBA in accounting from the University of Hawaii.

First Hawaiian Bank ($11.7 billion assets) was founded in 1858 and is Hawaii's oldest and largest bank. It has 57 branches in Hawaii, three on Guam and two on Saipan. It is a subsidiary of BancWest Corporation, a financial holding company with assets of $65.7 billion.
