FIRST HAWAIIAN IS THE ONLY BANK IN HAWAII TO OFFER
THE ADDED SECURITY OF BOTH ELECTRONIC STATEMENTS AND
ONLINE CHECK IMAGES
(Honolulu, Hawaii, June 30, 2006) - First Hawaiian has introduced a new, free electronic checking statement (eStatement) option to become the only bank in Hawaii to offer customers both electronic statements and online check images, according to an announcement by Don Horner, president and chief executive officer.
The innovative eStatement feature allows the bank's customers to have the option to view their checking account statements online quickly and easily, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. An email notice is sent to the customer's email address notifying the customer that there is a new statement available for viewing.
Through eStatements, customers have access to their checking account statements faster, easier and safer than ever before. The new eStatement feature offers customers added security by delivering their statements through a secured electronic means rather than through the mail. Customers can easily retrieve their eStatements online for up to 12 months, or download their statement to their computer for easy storage, filing and printing.
CheckImageSM is also a free state-of-the-art service that provides bank customers with the ability to view both sides of their canceled checks online at the click of a button. They have the option of not having to store checks at home. If they want a copy of the check, they can simply print the check quickly and easily on any printer.
First Hawaiian Bank's new eStatement feature, combined with online check images, provides customers with the added choices, convenience and security of being able to review and monitor their account activity at anytime.
“We are proud to be the first bank in Hawaii to provide our customers with both eStatements and CheckImage,” Horner said. “These safe, secure options help provide the latest in convenience and security to our valued customers.”
First Hawaiian Bank (assets $11.7 billion) was founded in 1858 and is Hawaii's oldest bank and the state's largest in terms of total assets and deposits. First Hawaiian has 57 branches in Hawaii, three on Guam and two on Saipan.
