KAPAHULU CENTER RECEIVES $25,000 GRANT
FROM FIRST HAWAIIAN BANK FOUNDATION
(Honolulu, Hawaii, July 16, 2008) - Kapahulu Center has been given a grant of $25,000 by The First Hawaiian Bank Foundation, the charitable arm of First Hawaiian Bank, according to an announcement by Don Horner, First Hawaiian Bank's president and chief executive officer. The grant will be used for Kapahulu Center's renovation project.
The renovation project is needed to accommodate and allow individuals who are physically challenged to participate freely in all of the Center's activities and services. The Center offers a variety of programs for seniors to enhance their quality of life, including health and wellness workshops, seminars on financial planning, community excursions, and other recreational, physical and social activities.
Kapahulu Center is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization that has been serving senior citizens for more than 25 years. The Center's mission is to provide a community focal point where individuals can go for activities and services necessary to enhance their dignity, support their independence, and encourage their involvement in the Center and the community.
First Hawaiian Bank Foundation is the charitable arm of First Hawaiian Bank. In 2007, the foundation and bank contributed $3.5 million to more than 350 non-profit organizations.
