First Hawaiian Bank Officer Promotions
Honolulu, Hawaii, July 20, 2004 -- First Hawaiian Bank announced the officer promotions of:

Neill A. Char to vice president and branch manager, University Banking Center. Char joined First Hawaiian in 2001 as corporate banking officer and was promoted to vice president and corporate banking officer in 2002. He is a member of the Construction Financial Management Association, graduated from Mid-Pacific Institute and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Hawaii.

Wayne H. Matsumura to assistant vice president and business banking officer, Kapiolani Banking Center. Matsumura joined First Hawaiian in 1994 as a loan representative, was promoted to assistant branch manager in 1996 and branch manager in 2000. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Mililani Sunrise, graduated from Leilehua High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Hawaii.

Barbara K. J. Nitta to assistant vice president, Human Resources Division. Nitta joined First Hawaiian in 1989 as a receptionist and has held positions as employment assistant, human resources rep and human resources officer. She is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management, graduated from Castle High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Hawaii.

Katharine H. Kam to branch manager, Mililani Branch. Kam joined First Hawaiian in 2000 as personal banking officer. She is a member of the Financial Women’s International, Aiea/Pearl City Business Association and the Pearlridge Rotary. Kam is a graduate of Kalani High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Phoenix.
