FIRST HAWAIIAN BANK TO REMAIN OPEN ON THE BIG ISLAND

(Honolulu, Hawaii, August 14, 2007) – First Hawaiian Bank announced that all of its branches on the Big Island will be open for business today providing full-service banking.

However the branches will be operating at reduced staffing levels to allow employees in affected areas to take care of their own personal needs. Bank officials will reassess the branches' operating status at noon today.

First Hawaiian Bank operates eight branches on the Big Island including Hilo, Kona, Kamuela, Pahoa, Kealakekua, Honokaa, Waikoloa and Kamehameha.
