FIRST HAWAIIAN BANK ANNOUNCES
EIGHT VICE PRESIDENT PROMOTIONS

(Honolulu, Hawaii, December 21, 2007) - President and Chief Executive Officer Don Horner today announced that the following officers have been promoted to the position of Vice President:

  • Paul G. Alimbuyao to vice president and manager, Trust Service Center
  • Shirley M. Durham to vice president, Transaction Management
  • John H. Flanigan to vice president, Cash Management Services
  • John Kubo to vice president, Merchant Services Department
  • Jen-L Lyman to vice president and team leader, Personal Trust
  • Karen Y. Matsumoto to vice president, RE Residential Loans
  • Manolo Tumalip to vice president and manager, Trust Service Center
  • Jeffrey S. Ventura to vice president and area manager, Waipahu Branch

Alimbuyao joined First Hawaiian Bank in 1997 as a trust asset control supervisor and was promoted to assistant vice president in 2002. He was appointed manager in 2003, responsible for managing the trust operations and support services. He has a bachelor's degree in accounting from Saint Louis University in the Philippines.

Durham joined First Hawaiian Bank in 1989 as a document processing clerk. She has held various positions including trust account clerk, transaction management shift supervisor and officer. She has an associate degree from Kapiolani Community College and is a graduate of the Bank Administration Institute's Bank Technology and Operations School.

Flanigan joined First Hawaiian Bank in 1996 as cash management sales specialist. He has held several positions including cash management sales specialist, sales officer and assistant vice president. He has a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Oregon.

Kubo, who has over 27 years of banking experience, previously held positions at Pioneer Federal and First Hawaiian Creditcorp. He was appointed assistant vice president, Merchant Services Division in 1998.

Lyman joined First Hawaiian Bank in 2003 as a trust administrator and was promoted to trust officer in 2004 and assistant vice president in 2006. She is graduate of Kamehameha School and has a political science degree from the University of Hawaii and holds both a J.D. and E.L.C. degree from the William S. Richardson School of Law.

Matsumoto joined First Hawaiian Bank in 2002 as a mortgage banking loan coordinator and was promoted to assistant vice president in 2005. She has over 20 years of mortgage banking experience. She is a graduate of Kaimuki High School and has a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

Tumalip joined First Hawaiian Bank in 1989 as an accountant. He has held various positions including check processing manager and assistant vice president research and development analyst and information management officer. He is a graduate of Waipahu High School and has a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Hawaii.

Ventura joined First Hawaiian Bank in 1992 as a management trainee and has held positions as loan representative, business banking associate, personal banking officer and branch manager at Ward Branch. He is a graduate of Maryknoll School and has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Loyola Marymount University.
