Special Olympics Hawai'i unleashes the human spirit through the transformative power and joy of sports everyday around our islands. Through work in sports, health education and community building, Special Olympics is addressing inactivity, injustice, intolerance and social isolation by encouraging and empowering people with intellectual disabilities which leads to a more welcoming and inclusive society. With the support of more than 7,000 coaches and volunteers, Special Olympics Hawai'i is able to deliver nine Olympic-type sports and more than 40 competitions to over 3,500 children and adults in Hawai'i throughout the year. All services provided by SOHI are free of charge to all athletes and their families.
