First Hawaiian Bank to Open New Manoa Branch with Grand Opening Celebration on March 11

Bank donates $5,000 to Hawaii Meal on Wheels

Honolulu, March 5, 2019 – First Hawaiian Bank today announced its new Manoa Branch, located at 2733 East Manoa Road, will open on Monday, March 11, 2019.  A Grand Opening celebration will be held that same day for the general public from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.  As part of the new Manoa Branch Grand Opening, First Hawaiian Bank will make a $5,000 donation to the Manoa non-profit Hawaii Meals on Wheels.

The current Manoa Branch located in the Manoa Marketplace Shopping Center at 2764 Woodlawn Drive, will close for business on Friday, March 8 at 6 p.m.  On Saturday, March 9, 2019, customers may visit nearby University or Makiki Branches for Saturday banking from 9:00 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The new Manoa Branch features modern, architectural lines with a backdrop wall of textured wood in light ash and warm walnut, creating a warm neutrals palette.  Large picture windows bring in lots of natural light and color accents of sky blue and burnt sienna to create an inviting and welcoming gathering space for customers and the community to enjoy.  The new lobby has been reimagined with a concierge stand and service pods for more efficient, personalized customer care. 

Self-Service Welcome Area. A large foyer area features 24-access to two “no envelope ATMs” for customers seeking quick, self-service options.  The no envelope ATMs available 24/7, do not require an envelope when making a cash or check deposit and will print the front of the check on the receipt.

Convenience Area. Two new “service pods,” create a more personalized experience for customers wanting “stop in” service with bank staff for their everyday transactions and account information. 

Financial Services Area.  One-to-one personalized customer service is available with private meeting spaces for customers needing additional privacy when discussing loans, deposits, retirement or financial planning with First Hawaiian Bank’s expert banking professionals. 

The 4,400 square-foot Manoa branch has a dedicated on-site private parking lot and offers convenient personal banking and wealth management services.

Over two decades of Manoa Community Support - First Hawaiian Bank has been a part of the Manoa community for nearly 22 years since 1997. Sheri-Ann Higa, who has over 31 years of banking experience, will serve as vice president and Manoa branch manager.  Wayne Suehiro manages the nearby University Banking Center and serves as the senior vice president and area manager. As part of the Manoa Branch Grand Opening, the bank will be contributing $5,000 to Hawaii Meals on Wheels in recognition of the important work they do serving those in need in our community.

Manoa Opening Celebration -The general public is invited to a grand opening celebration on Monday, March 11, 2019 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  There will be a plinko game, giveaways, a chance to win $50 gift cards from neighboring Manoa merchants Waipuna Sushi, Longs Drugs  and Choco le`a as well as special limited-time promotional offers on products and services. Customers opening a Pure Checking Account with online banking will receive an Amazon Echo Dot while supplies last.
