First Hawaiian Bank Announces Five Promotions

Honolulu, April 21, 2025 - First Hawaiian Bank Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Bob Harrison announced the advancement of five individuals.

Todd T. Nitta, Executive Vice President and Division Manager, Dealer Division. Todd T. Nitta has been promoted to executive vice president and division manager of First Hawaiian Bank’s Dealer Division. He is responsible for overseeing the Hawai‘i and Western Region Dealer Center operations to include in-direct consumer financing in the state. He has more than three decades of banking experience, 16 years of which is in auto financing. Nitta earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Pepperdine University and is a graduate of Pacific Coast Banking School. He is a board member of the Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center. Raised on Kaua‘i, Nitta currently resides in Kāneʻohe.

Ed Char, Senior Vice President and Process Redesign Manager, Enterprise Operations Services Division. Ed Char has been promoted to senior vice president and process redesign manager of First Hawaiian Bank’s Enterprise Operations Services Division. He is responsible for identifying and leading initiatives to automate, digitize, streamline or improve processes within the division and across the enterprise. He has 34 years of banking experience in branch operations, call center operations, fee management, deposit product management, treasury operations, digital payments operations, and process redesign. Char earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Tufts University, his Master of Business Administration from the University of Hawaiʻi’s Shidler College of Business, and is a graduate of Pacific Coast Banking School. He has been a board member of the Hawaii Council on Economic Education for the past 15 years. He currently resides in Kāhala.

Stéphane Goachet, Senior Vice President and Enterprise, Model, and Data Risk Manager, Risk Management Group. Stéphane Goachet has been promoted to senior vice president and enterprise, model, and data risk manager of First Hawaiian Bank’s Risk Management Group. He is responsible for directly overseeing the Enterprise Risk, Model Risk and Data Governance Programs at the bank. Goachet has over 20 Years of experience in the banking industry, having held leadership roles in information technology, global markets, compliance and risk management in several continents. He earned his Master of Science from the National Institute of Applied Sciences in Lyon, France. A native of Brest, France, Goachet currently resides in Pālolo.

Chuck Erskine, Senior Vice President and Hawai‘i Region Manager, Retail Banking Group. Chuck Erskine has been promoted to senior vice president and Hawai‘i region manager of First Hawaiian Bank’s Retail Banking Group. He is responsible for managing the seven branches on Hawai‘i Island. Erskine has nearly four decades of banking experience. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Hawai‘i at Hilo, and currently serves on the board of Hawai‘i Care Choices and Lyman House Memorial Museum. Raised in Honoka‘a, Erskine currently resides in Hilo.

Danielle S.N. Yafuso, Senior Vice President and Division Manager, Bank Properties Division. Danielle S.N. Yafuso has been promoted to senior vice president and division manager of First Hawaiian Bank’s Bank Properties Division. She will continue to oversee strategic planning, project management, and maintenance of the bank’s network of facilities across Hawai‘i, Guam, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. In addition, Yafuso will provide support for physical security, executive dining and employee food services, and fitness club amenities. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa’s School of Architecture and is a California-licensed architect. She currently serves as chair of Easterseals Hawaii, is a board member of Catalight, and chair of the Masterplan Committee for Palama Settlement. A native of Torrance, California, Yafuso currently resides in Makiki.
