First Hawaiian Bank Announces Five Promotions

Honolulu, January 26, 2023 - First Hawaiian Bank announced the advancement of five individuals. Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Bob Harrison is pleased to congratulate the following bank officers on their hard work and well-deserved promotions:

Coby Barbata, Senior Vice President, Corporate Banking Division. First Hawaiian Bank has appointed Coby Barbata to senior vice president in the Corporate Banking Division where he is responsible for large commercial customer relationships. Barbata has over a decade of banking experience and joined the bank in 2010. He is a graduate of Punahou School and earned his bachelor’s degree in International Commerce from Brown University and his Master’s in Business Administration from INSEAD. He is also a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington. Born in Kailua, he currently resides in Diamond Head/Kapahulu.

Brian K. Brennan, Senior Vice President & Team Leader, Commercial Real Estate Division. Brian K. Brennan has been promoted to senior vice president & team leader in the bank’s Commercial Real Estate Division. He is tasked with coaching and developing a real estate team, managing customer relationships, as well as underwriting and monitoring a large portfolio of commercial real estate loans. Brennan is a member of the Urban Land Institute and serves on the board of Manoa Youth Baseball League. He is a graduate of Punahou School and Arizona State University. He currently resides in Manoa.

Randy Faatau, Vice President & Cybersecurity Operations Manager, Cybersecurity Division. First Hawaiian Bank has promoted Randy Faatau to vice president & cybersecurity operations manager in the bank’s Cybersecurity Division. He is charged with leading the operations team for the Cybersecurity Division including Security Operations Center (SOC), Identity & Access Management (IAM), and IT asset Management. Faatau has over 15 years of IT infrastructure and engineering experience. Born in Tahiti, French Polynesia, he currently resides in Kaimuki.

John A. Julian, Branch Manager, Hawaii Kai Branch. John A. Julian has been promoted to branch manager of the Hawaii Kai branch. He is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all operations of the branch while creating and implementing strategies to improve productivity and performance. Julian has 15 years of retail banking experience, and joined First Hawaiian Bank in 2011. He is a graduate of W.R. Farrington High School, and currently resides in Downtown Honolulu.

Gregory Hackler, Vice President and Private Banking Officer, Private Banking Division. Gregory Hackler has been promoted to vice president and private banking officer in the Private Banking Division. He is responsible for forming trusted relationships with the bank’s high net worth clients to develop personalized solutions to meet their banking, financing, and investing needs. He has nearly 15 years of banking experience specializing in wealth management, retail banking, commercial banking, and private banking. Hackler is a graduate of Iolani School and the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He currently resides in Nuuanu.
