First Hawaiian Bank Announces Five Promotions

Honolulu, April 12, 2024 - First Hawaiian Bank Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Bob Harrison announced the advancement of five individuals.

Chad M. Yamamoto, Vice President, Advertising. Chad M. Yamamoto has been promoted to vice president of advertising at First Hawaiian Bank. He is responsible for the strategy development and execution of the bank’s marketing and advertising campaigns. He has nearly two decades of banking, finance, marketing, and product management experience. A graduate of Maryknoll School, Yamamoto earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics and Finance from Seattle University. He currently serves as treasurer for Hawaii LGBT Legacy Foundation and secretary for Honolulu Professionals Foundation. He currently resides in Pauoa.

Lia Y. Hee, Vice President and Community Reinvestment Act Officer, Corporate Compliance Division. Lia Y. Hee has been promoted to vice president and Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) officer in First Hawaiian Bank’s Corporate Compliance Division. She is responsible for overseeing the bank’s CRA Program, presenting updates to the CRA Board Committee, and providing analytical support and reporting for the management of loan data, service projects, and investments. She has been in the banking industry since 2007. Hee is a graduate of Sacred Hearts Academy and earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington where she majored in Psychology and minored in Japanese. Born in Tokyo, Japan, she currently resides in Moanalua Valley.

Dennis J. Ducatt, Private Wealth Advisor, Senior Wealth Advisor, and Vice President, First Hawaiian Advisors Private Client Advisory Group. Dennis J. Ducatt has been promoted to private wealth advisor, senior wealth advisor, and vice president with First Hawaiian Advisors Private Client Advisory Group. This group specializes in serving as a trusted advisor and advocate with a highly personalized and professional approach to financial wellness. Catering to First Hawaiian Bank’s high net-worth individuals, business owners, and family wealth clientele, Ducatt is responsible for leading a team that assists with financial planning services, wealth management strategies as well as customized retirement and estate planning solutions to help clients successfully achieve their goals and objectives. Ducatt earned the Private Wealth Advisor designation from Raymond James, and has over 20 years of management, operations and financial services experience. He served in the U.S. Army as a military police investigator and paratrooper. He earned his Master of Business Administration in Marketing from Hawaii Pacific University. Currently, Ducatt is actively involved in several non-profits within the community such as Friends of the Children’s Justice Center, Women Helping Women and Ka Lima O Maui. Born in Saranac Lake, NY, he currently resides in Kahului, Maui.

Samantha H. Gabriel, Vice President and Branch Compliance and Internal Controls Officer, Service Delivery Division. Samantha H. Gabriel has been promoted to vice president and branch compliance and internal controls officer of First Hawaiian Bank’s Service Delivery Division. She is responsible for assessing regulatory change and its applicability to branch operations, managing operational bank projects, and Retail Banking Group/branch liaison for all audits. Gabriel has eight years of operation and five years of compliance experience. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Travel Industry Management from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and her Juris Doctor from the University of Hawaii William S. Richardson School of Law. Gabriel was a member of the Patsy T. Mink Center for Business & Leadership – Mink Leader Cohort 7 and is currently active in alumni involvement. Born in Tacoma, WA, she currently resides in Downtown Honolulu.

Jason Lau, Vice President, IT Service and Support Manager, Enterprise Technology Management Division. Jason Lau has been promoted to vice president of IT Service and support manager within First Hawaiian Bank’s Enterprise Technology Management Division. He is responsible for leading a team of IT professionals who directly support the bank’s day-to-day technology and equipment needs, overseeing both the End User Support Team and the Help Desk Team. Lau has 16 years of IT experience and joined First Hawaiian Bank in 2018. He earned his Bachelor of Applied Science in Computing, Electronics, and Network Technology from the University of Hawaii – West Oahu. Born in Pasadena, CA, he currently resides in Makiki.
