First Hawaiian Bank Announces Executive Promotions and New Hire

Honolulu, November 17, 2022 - First Hawaiian Bank announced the advancement of five individuals. Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Bob Harrison is pleased to congratulate the following bank officers on their hard work and well-deserved promotions:

Kenneth Miller, Executive Vice President, Chief Investment Officer, and Division Manager, Institutional Advisory Services Division. First Hawaiian Bank has appointed Kenneth Miller to executive vice president, chief investment officer, and division manager in Institutional Advisory Services. He has more than 25 years of experience in the banking industry and joined First Hawaiian Bank in 2002. Miller currently serves as the president of CFA Society Hawaii, a trustee of the University of Hawaii Foundation, and a director at Pacific Asian Center for Entrepreneurship. He was twice named to The Wall Street Journal All-Star Analyst Team and was the WSJ’s number one ranked biotechnology stock picker in 2002. Miller earned his MBA with distinction from Cornell University. Born in Guam, he currently resides in Kahala.

Lea M. Nakamura, Executive Vice President and Deputy Chief Risk Officer, Risk Management Group. Lean M. Nakamura has been promoted to executive vice president and deputy chief risk offer in the Risk Management Group. Nakamura has over three decades of banking experience, and joined First Hawaiian Bank in 2014. She graduated from Georgetown University with a degree in International Economics. Born and raised on Oahu, she currently resides in Aiea.

Ben Kashiwabara, Senior Vice President, Commercial Income Property Department, Commercial Banking Group. Ben Kashiwabara has been promoted to senior vice president of the Commercial Income Property Department in the Commercial Banking Group. He oversees the origination of commercial income property loans and loan portfolio maintenance. Kashiwabara has 35 years of commercial real estate lending experience specializing in commercial income property real estate loans that are tenant occupied. A graduate of Iolani High School, Kashiwabara earned his Bachelor Science in Business Management from Pepperdine University. He is a member of the Hawaii Association of Mortgage Brokers, NAIOP, and CCIM. He currently resides in Aina Haina.

Isaac M. Okita, Senior Vice President, Division Manager & Treasurer, Treasury & Investment Division. First Hawaiian Bank has promoted Isaac M. Okita to senior vice president, division manager, and treasurer in the bank’s Treasury & Investment Division. He is responsible for managing First Hawaiian Bank’s Treasury Division and balance sheet encompassing interest rate risk, liquidity, capital and profitability analytics. He has nearly 15 years of banking experience and joined the bank in 2018. He earned his Finance degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and is a member of the Executive Advisory Board at KUPU. He currently resides in Nuuanu.

Rosemary Peh, Senior Vice President, Head of Data & Analytics, Data Science & Analytics Division. Rosemary Peh was hired as senior vice president and head of Data & Analytics in the Data Science & Analytics Division. She is tasked with developing and delivering enterprise-wide data and analytics capabilities so that First Hawaiian Bank can become a data-driven organization. She has over 25 years of experience in technology, data, and analytics. She earned her master’s degree from Hawaii Pacific University. Since 2017, Peh has served as a Venture Program competition judge at Shidler School of Business. A native of Penang, Malaysia, Peh currently resides in Kailua-Kona.
