In light of the recent stay at home, work from home measures being implemented in Hawaii and Guam, some of our branch locations will be temporarily closed or may be open with modified hours of operation. Along with this change we are reserving the first hour of service for seniors and high-risk individuals who are most vulnerable to COVID-19.

Update from 3/23/2020
In response to a Saipan Government mandate, effective March 24, 2020, all Saipan Branches will be open 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Update from 3/14/2020
An important part of our business contingency plan is to ensure that we have the resources in place to continue to offer our customers a complete range of services without interruption. To do this, we are establishing our Pearlridge Branch as a redundant operations center.

Pearlridge Branch will be closed for regular banking services with the exception of safe deposit box, ATM and night deposit services starting Monday, March 16, 2020.

Safe Deposit Box hours for the Pearlridge Branch are 8:30am to 11:30am and 1:00pm to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Customers may visit our Pearl City or Moanalua Branches for full-service banking, or access their accounts via FHB Online or the FHB Mobile app.

ONLINE AND MOBILE BANKING

We encourage our customers to bank from the safety of their own home. With FHB Online and Mobile you can take care of many of your banking needs remotely. Manage account activity and track spending, transfer funds between accounts, get banking alerts, review and print statements, make bill payments and deposit checks with mobile deposit are just a few of the many banking activities you can take care of without stepping foot into a branch.

Scammers take advantage of challenging times to trick you out of your money. Whether it’s a fictitious charity, sending malicious email or calling and acting as a bank to get your account information, it’s important that you stay informed and alert to protect yourself. As your bank, we will never request via email, text or phone your account login or password, debit card pin number or secure access code.   • Keep computer operating systems and anti-virus software up to date

SBA DISASTER LOAN
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is offering low-interest federal disaster loans for working capital to small businesses suffering substantial economic injury as a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). SBA’s Economic Injury Disaster Loans offer up to $2 million in assistance for each affected small business. These loans can provide vital economic support to small businesses to help overcome the temporary loss of revenue they are experiencing.

SBA PAYCHECK PROTECTION PROGRAM
This program is intended to help small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic by providing loans up to $10 million to cover payroll and other operating expenses. The SBA has issued some initial information about the program, which is linked to below.

Businesses can begin to apply under this program as follows:

  • April 3, 2020 for small businesses and sole proprietorships
  • April 10, 2020 for independent contractors and self-employed individuals

ATM FEE WAIVER PROGRAM
First Hawaiian Bank customers can use any Hawaii bank’s ATMs, including American Savings Bank, Bank of Hawaii, Central Pacific Bank and Hawaii National Bank without incurring fees through June 30, 2020.

Non-First Hawaiian Bank customers will not be charged a fee to use an FHB ATM, but should check to see if they will incur a fee from their bank.

  • How can I do my banking without going into a branch?

    We encourage you to sign up for our FHB Online and FHB Mobile banking services. These 24/7 banking services will allow you to do banking anytime, anywhere. You can transfer funds, pay bills, and with FHB Mobile you can make a deposit by taking a photo. All of our ATMs are operational and you may speak to one of our Call Center representatives.

  • What should I do if I am experiencing financial hardship as a result of COVID-19?

    We encourage you to contact your banker discuss options for your unique situation or request for relief assistance online securely from the comfort of your own home at financialassistance.fhb.com. We offer consumer loan deferrals for PayAnyDay personal loans, auto loan and credit cards up to three months and mortgage loan forbearance up to six months. For our business customers we offer payment deferrals, fee waivers and online banking assistance.

  • Which branches are open and how do I find the hours of operation?

    Our bank is open for business and we have modified our operations to protect the safety of our customers and employees. You can find our available full -service branch locations here.

  • Are you making special accommodations for seniors and at-risk customers?

    Yes. We are dedicating the first hour of business that we open to allow seniors and those at high risk to do their banking.

  • How do I access my safe deposit box?

    You may access your safe deposit box Monday through Friday at any branch.

  • Should I expect a longer wait time when I call your call center?

    Yes, we are currently experiencing higher than normal call volume due to COVID-19. We encourage you to take advantage of our online and mobile banking services, and appreciate your patience.

  • What is the bank doing to keep its employees safe?

    First Hawaiian Bank strives to provide a safe and secure environment for its customers and employees in its branches. For the safety and protection of our employees, we have implemented travel restrictions and quarantines, hand-washing, social distancing and increased cleanings in the branches. We are asking customers to use FHB Online and FHB Mobile banking services from home if they are feeling ill and when they come into the branch they practice social distancing, keeping 6 feet apart from others, to also wash their hands with soap and water or they can use the hand-sanitizing stations available in every branch.

  • What is social distancing?

    Social distancing, or physical distancing is minimizing close personal contact to help slow down the spread of COVID-19. Customers can practice social distancing by:

    • Using FHB Online or FHB Mobile from the comfort and safety of their home
    • Keeping a distance of 6 feet or more between you and other people
    • Avoid being in crowded spaces, large gatherings or events
    • Wave your hand instead of greeting someone with a hug or shaking hands
    • Use knuckles or elbows to push elevator buttons
  • Will you close a branch if there is potential for exposure to COVID-19?

    Yes, as a precautionary measure, we will take immediate action minimize potential exposure to our employees and customers by closing a branch.

  • Is my money safe at the bank?
