SBA Paycheck Protection Program
The SBA’s Paycheck Protection Program is intended to help small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic by providing “fully forgivable” loans up to $10 million to cover up to 8 weeks of payroll expenses – including benefits – and can also be used to make mortgage interest, lease and utility payments.

Applying for a Loan
On January 6, 2021, the SBA released guidance and qualifications for those looking to participate in the Paycheck Protection Program loan from the funding it received from the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021. The guidelines provide instructions for those applying for a loan from the program for the first time and a separate set of instructions for those applying for a loan from the program for a second time
Our PPP digital portal is open for existing FHB customers looking to apply for their first or second PPP loan. Click here for more information and to apply now.
On January 19, 2021, the SBA issued revised versions of the forgiveness applications and guidance about the modified forgiveness process.
Because of those developments, we have temporarily closed our PPP loan forgiveness portal and will not be accepting new forgiveness applications at this time. We will re-open the portal for all PPP borrowers, including borrowers with a PPP loan of $50,000 or less, once we have completed the portal and application updates required by the SBA.
Customers who have already started or submitted a forgiveness application will still be able to access the portal while we are working on our updates.
We will notify PPP Borrowers by e-mail when our forgiveness portal reopens. For more information about these changes, please visit the SBA's website here.
