Sometimes even working people need a helping hand.

The Laulima Giving Program (formerly called the Lokahi Giving Project) is a partnership between KHON2 and Keiki O Ka'Aina Family Learning Centers. The Laulima Giving Program helps Hawaii's struggling families and individuals by providing life's basic necessities, year round emergency assistance and a brighter holiday season.

In addition to helping the poorest of the poor, The Laulima Giving Program is one of the few agencies that assists the struggling gap group — "the working poor" — those who are trying to make ends meet and do not qualify for assistance through other programs. The Laulima Giving Program also reaches out to seniors and people who have had a catastrophic event in their lives.

Laulima means "many hands working together". You can help to ease the burden of someone in need by making a monetary donation at any First Hawaiian Bank branch by January 31, 2014.
